50 States and the Credit Card Fraud Risk They’re Into:
While there is no foolproof method to judge if you’re going to be a victim of credit card theft one day, the state you live in, work, or visit might actually provide you with some clues.
Some analysts from “Reward Expert”, gathered an array of data including three federal agencies, the Consumer Finance Protection Bureau, The Consumer Sentinel Network of the Federal Trade Commission, and the FBI’s Internet Crime Complaint Center, to understand better where the hazards happen the most.
So, the question is, how at risk are you to become one in over 2 million U.S. residents that are victimized by credit card thieves?
We’re going to start by seeing the reports of every state, and see where people are at least at risk!
Iowa
Iowa managed to have one of the lowest rates of credit card fraud in the whole country.
However, you shouldn’t let your guard down too much.
There are still a couple of frauds, such as one in Polk County (home to the capital Des Moines), where there have been 16 reported cases in three days in 2016.

South Dakota
In South Dakota, it is the least likely you would ever suffer from credit card fraud, even if there have been a couple of troubling outbreaks.
