3. Social Security credits and taxes
In 2025, you will have to earn a minimum number of credits in order to benefit from Social Security. The Social Security Administration will not offer you any benefits in case you don’t earn enough credits. To be considered eligible, you need a minimum of 40 work credits. Keep in mind that you are allowed to earn 4 credits per year.
In 2024, you need to earn $1,730 in wages or self-employment income to receive one credit, and a total of $6,920 for the maximum of four credits. The numbers are adjusted each year, so changes are expected for 2025. For comparison, in 2023, the requirement was $1,640 per credit, which is $90 less than what’s needed in 2024.
Keep in mind that earning more than 40 credits, will not increase your benefit payment! Your retirement benefits are calculated based on your earnings throughout your working life.

Wrong information! Retirement age for those born in 1958 is 66 and 8 months. It’s 66 and 6 months for those born in 1957. I know, because I was born in 1957, my sisters were born in 1958 and 1959.
They always raise the ages for retirements and now is going to be when you turn 70 my question why is mandatory to pay medicare when you are turning 65 and why they take it when you turn 70 this is a scam the government is triking us who all our life being paying for our retirement 🤔

Ya they want you to wait until you are 70 so that you will be living to make any claimes for a SHORTER TIME !!!!!!!! I paid into the SS system for 55 damn years, I was not going to wait until I was 70 to begin collecting, I was able to start with a somewhat reasonable monthly re paymet ath the age of 66 years of age.

In order to receive a $122 per month increase, a Social Security check would have to be about $5000.

Never give up, I want my retirement and I don’t want to wait until 67. I worked all my life including taking care my adult kids and my mother she died at 97. I’m tired chasing the money. God always provide. God have faith so my retirement is around the corner. Thank God!
