Vancouver, Washington
What is most appealing about Vancouver, Washington, is its proximity to nature. Whatever you prefer when it comes to nature, Vancouver has it. This city is about an hour’s drive from the beach, mountains, or forest.
Vancouver claims to offer the advantages of a bigger city like Portland but with a more calm and slow way of life.
Retiring in Vancouver is not all sunshine and rainbows. Even with no state income tax, the housing market is costly.
Another aspect you should consider before moving here is the weather. If you think a little rain is not that bad, think again. It really rains a lot in the colder months, but on the flip side, the weather in summer is just perfect.
You might want to worry less about your finances after retirement. I highly recommend reading “ The All-Weather Retirement Portfolio: Your Post-Retirement Investment Guide to a Worry-Free Income for Life (Worry-free Retirement) ” by Randy L. Thuran, which can be found on Amazon.
