1. Apex, North Carolina
Okay, okay, I might be biased, but in my honest opinion, Apex is, without a doubt, one of the best small towns for all retirees. Nestled near the state capital of Raleigh, this beautiful place will enchant you with its peaceful atmosphere. If you’re looking for natural beauty and a vibrant community, this is the place to be!
Many people, including myself, consider it a prime spot for seniors, thanks to its gorgeous local parks, delightful historic district, and proximity to healthcare services. If you’re not blessed with a high income, you can definitely live comfortably in Apex.
Even though the cost of living is 4% higher than the national average, it’s a relatively affordable place to live. Grocery prices are 1% higher, and healthcare is around 12% higher too (but you know you’re in good hands), but transportation expenses are 8% lower, and utility prices are 6% lower than the national average.
Another thing you’ll love about this small town is the low crime rate, so you can safely walk around without being scared of thieves. The environment is overall welcoming, and there are lots of activities for retirees who want to be engaged.
Last but not least, whether you like outdoor adventures or prefer strolling through downtown, Apex is a good choice to enjoy your golden years. And yes, we’ll be neighbors!

Could be the right towns , but the one I would consider if I was seriously thinking about moving would be in North Carolina. But I am not in the market in relocated or even moving.
