Panama offers a premier retiree package through its Pensionado Visa program. You must prove a guaranteed lifetime monthly pension or Social Security payout of at least $1,000 for single applicants or $1,250 for couples. Purchasing Panamanian real estate valued at $100,000 or higher lowers the minimum lifetime pension requirement to $750 monthly. Pensionado visa holders receive state-mandated discounts, including 50 percent off entertainment and hotel stays, 25 percent off restaurant meals and airfare, and 10 to 20 percent off prescription medications and doctor consultations.
